Partnership with mainstream community leadership programs.

Leadership Plus was a founding member of Community Leadership Australia which is a not-for-profit alliance of community leadership programs from Australia, New Zealand and Fiji. This alliance was established to promote and develop public interest in community leadership programs and the encouragement of mutual support among members.

In its partnership with mainstream leadership programs, Leadership Plus aims to:

• promote and develop public interest in and help to educate the community on community leadership and its role in facilitating social change;
• assist in the development of new and existing community leadership programs;
• participate in the research into community leadership in Australia and around the world;
• assist existing community leadership programs to increase the diversity of their participant bases. 

Leadership Plus will continue to develop partnerships with community leadership organisations in the United States and other parts of the world, where our work can assist in developing the skills and abilities of people with disabilities and other marginalised groups.

RMIT Partnership

The Leadership program has been a great example of a community partnership approach in which RMIT University and Leadership Plus have combined resources to further a range of positive community initiatives.  The strategically is a strong focus of both organisations.

The Leadership program is a unique product, in that leadership programs such as this have normally focused in on corporate participant engagement, where as this program has a very strong focus on leadership development within the community and about issues of capacity  and broad leadership inclusion.  The alignment with units from the community services package within RMIT promotes a learning pathway for each participant.
